Vehicles in German City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Officers stated they were notified by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Around 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report early analysis suggest the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the event," they added.

City officials announced they were working "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the public for tips.

A senior official stated the incident rendered him stunned and required to be resolved quickly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
